Sometime last year I had read about this cafe that serves thai milk tea crepe cakes with an extra thai milk tea sauce and I had been REALLY looking forward to trying it when I came home. I was even luckier that they recently had a pop-up at Clementi Mall bringing it closer to the west >< after all that anticipation I must say I was very satisfied/impressed because it was a pretty looking cake with a golden hue (and glittery!), and although it was takeaway, you still got the sauce securely in a squeeze tube. I would definitely like to get another slice just for myself (no sharing! ><) in the near future :P
I also had my dose of sushi since I came back- it was the season for chutoro specials and autumn inspired creations. And Tiong Bahru Bakery (which I believe has the BEST croissants) is now serving hojicha lattes! So although a holiday to Japan is not possible yet due to COVID restrictions, it was nice to have some authentic tasting foods while rediscovering Singapore. By the way, this Tiong Bahru Bakery outlet was at Holland Village, which has so many cafes now so that you can easily access them via the circle/downtown lines, instead of having to travel to outram+tiongbahru via the northeast/eastwest lines if that's further away for you. I'm looking forward to exploring places on the new thomson-east coast line as well! :D
Adapting back to the Singapore "city" lifestyle has included getting used to 100% cashless payments at quite a few places...soon a physical wallet may not be necessary >< Also in Munich at train stations escalators can go in both directions and so you either catch it or just take the stairs. Here at peak hours it's common to either queue behind everyone or walk up the escalators quickly on the right >< In terms of food, one of the things I miss about the McDonalds in Germany are the interesting dips that you can select from like buttermilk or senf (mustard)....and even the curry sauce tastes different and more like the sauce served with currywurst. Also you can add on sparkling/carbonated water as an option for beverages (or "fancy water" as I like to call it :P because while it's really common in Europe, it's hardly consumed on a daily basis here....in Singapore you can find some at cold storage now). Even so, Singapore (and Asia) have their own specialty items now and then like the samurai burger, SHAKER FRIES, and yuzu pie. So although I don't eat McDonalds often, I make an exception when they bring back these interesting meals :)

One thing that I thought I would miss but don't have to is conveniently renting a bike via Anywheel and paying per ride. On the app, you can locate bikes easily so I'm really happy about having more cycling adventures around Singapore :D
