Fusion Nasilemak & a Tartshop in a Condo! šŸ˜®šŸ›šŸ„§

There are many interesting discoveries lately like this fusion nasilemak place called Husk, slightly hidden in Bugis Cube. It was worth the search though cause it was flavourful and you can taste the effort put into making each component like the ramen type egg, or the special batter fish, and even the sambal. The portion size is also rather generous. I wish I had the time to eat there instead of takeaway cause I can imagine it would have been even more tasty just freshly prepared, but even so the packaging was good so you can just mix all the necessary components when you are ready. I must say though, that if you are looking for the very traditional nasilemak (i.e. slightly salty fried chicken wing, that fried egg, stronger flavour of coconut rice), Husk tastes very different to it, but I liked this dish for the creation that it was.

Recently, a homebaker also opened up a tart shop in his condominium! I was really amazed at this concept and even more impressed when I visited the shop which looked so professional with the glass case, and the chocolate tart is sincerely one of the more delicious tarts I've tried lately;- buttery pastry and smooth chocolate. I hope to get more soon, and I feel happy to have made this discovery because I can share this with my muslim friends as well as not all pastry shops that I like are muslim owned/halal certified.

There are also a whole variety of food options in the Alexandra/Bukit Merah area of Singapore. It was really by chance I stumbled upon the fact that Leon from Masterchef Singapore has a eatery there now serving ayam penyet burgers with tempeh fries!!! The burger is really really delicious and I would recommend everyone to try it, though the portion size was rather big so I shared it with my sister. Personally I also like tempeh, so I was a big fan of the fries.

I also discovered a rather nice Peranakan eatery with affordable lunch time set meals for the working crowd called Tingkat PeraMakan located at ARC. It's quite nice that you get to pick a main, 2 vegetable dishes and even a dessert served in nice patterned bowls. The sago dessert is definitely the sweet treat you need for a mid-day pick me up before you continue work :)
