I first tried Giesinger Beer as a bottled option from the supermarket when COVID was still very rampant/vaccination rates were low and the Euros were going on :P It was a really good radler but it didn't occur to me then it originated from Giesing, a suburb in Munich itself! And it was only till recently when I visited Shotgun Sister Cafe at that area that everything clicked ><

Anyway, due to it's good business, the brewery has expanded and moved to a different suburb but has places within the city for you have a taste of their beer, one at Marienplatz which is quite easily accessible (though of course you can always easily go to the source!).

Also, while I was at it, I learnt abit more about the different 'less bitter' varieties available so that I could try something different this time, and so tried the Märzen:

Weißbier: beer made from wheat (as opposed to barley)

Erhellung: "cellar beer" which is an unfiltered beer

Dunkel: dark beers with malty flavours

Märzen: "March beer" to celebrate Oktoberfest (when the flavour is at its peak)

There was also a strike recently by DB train drivers and so I couldn't go out on the usual visits to the other towns on the weekend. But it finally gave me a chance to visit the Lenbachhaus in person, since the time I attended the virtual tour during the lockdown. It was really nice to see the artwork of Der Blaue Reiter group in real life! On top of that there was a special exhibition featuring the works of Wassily Kandinsky and Gabriele Münter (founders of the group) and it talked about her taking many photographs with her kodak camera, his painting techniques and how they pushed each other to improve their art as well as explore Europe : )

Aside from the museum cafe, there is also a nice biergarten to eat at near the museum- Park Cafe - especially if the weather is good : ) Their radler is different to the usual ones which is mixed with lemonade cause they mix theirs with sprite. My favourite part of the meal was the potato dumplings :D It reminded me of the 1st time I ordered some as a takeaway on a rainy sunday and it was nice to finally taste some freshly prepared in good weather. It feels really lucky to be able to be out and about after those months of lockdown and to be able to enjoy semester break before work and winter returns.
