Adventures of the Student Scientist on the S-Bahn (S^3) continue! 🚂🍻👩‍🔬🏞️ #Munich

Last year when the COVID situation improved and I could finally leave my room, I began my adventures as a student on the s-bahn >< I felt this was the best way to see abit of Munich on the weekends using my existing student ticket;- I tried going to the ends of each of the lines to learn about the food, history, etc...and just meet new local people! My 1st stop was Tutzing which of course was really beautiful, especially for someone who loves lakes.

I also got more recommendations from some German friends and finally visited Erding and Ebersberg as well. Erding is famous for the brewery and I was told Ebersberg is nice for hiking. Other than visiting the "fan shop" and getting beer from the source :P, I also discovered a nice bakery (Baeckerei Neumaier) from 1921! the nuss-kek was really good! As with most other towns in the region, there are many historic buildings, little lanes of shops and some nice cafes/restaurants where you could probably try the latest Erdinger radler made for summer :P

And indeed Ebersberg is a beautiful place for a hike! There is a trail for you to follow from the city centre and it passes through some small lakes and even a tiny farm! (I found the goat staring at me from its house particularly amusing). You will finally end up at Egglburger see which is also next to huge farmlands. The scenery is just really peaceful and calming.

I also did visit 2 bakeries! One for cake and one for bread :P Hasi's bakery has really nice pretzels and quark donuts! While Freundl bakery has so many lovely cakes, and the sachertorte I had was delicious! It was actually a little moist and slightly chocolately like a black forest cake (not a drier-type cake like the one I tried in Austria before, so I'm not sure which is the 'accurate' one but this was to my liking :P)
