Tutzing!

Tutzing was one of the 1st few places I discovered and planned to visit but was unable to due to the COVID lockdown. I wanted to be by the lake and get to see the alps, and FINALLY after many months I got to : )

It is historically a fishing town and the view of alps in the background of the boats is really beautiful. The lake itself was very reminiscent of my time in Tasmania and it felt very serene. ♩ ♪ ♫"Denn ich bin wie ein Bumerang, Ich komm zurück zu dir ein Leben lang" haha ♩ ♪ ♫

Sadly, the cafe I meant to visit, Cafe Erin, closed as of 30/7/2021, after 17 years of business!! </3 But! I discovered another bakery on the corner of Marienstasse, Cafe Höflinger : ) They have really nice breads and cakes and I had a ham&cheese pretzel.

There is also a grand looking church perched on a slope, and when the bells ring, you can hear them all over the town. The church of St Joseph has these attractive green structures on the roof (somewhat steeples) and clocks that you can see from all angles.

Overall the town is rather quiet on Sundays but there are many eiscafes open and a main beergarden that overlooks the lake. Tutzing is also home to some classical musicians like Elly Ney (I saw a sculpture of her) and you can read more about the history of the place here. It is a nice place to visit if you just want to have some quiet time and there are big parks/gardens for you to sit at and admire the surroundings.
