Summer has truly ended >< Everyone is bundled up in fall jackets and sadly the COVID numbers are up too, so one needs to follow the 3G rule "geimpft, getestet, genesen" when out. But despite everything it's nice we still have that morning sunlight that glistens during the morning busride, or that really nice warm cup of coffee with the steam wafting out of the cup : ) I've truly understood the meaning of "Hygge" vibes or as I saw in a chocolate store "kuschelecke"= cozy corner.

Pasing is an interesting stopover for many trainrides not far from Munich city, and was another town with a Viktualienmarkt so I decided to explore it. Compared to the other towns I've visited, this town is busier and has a slightly grungy vibe (not in a bad way!) with graffiti art, sportbars OR delis combined with cafes, barber shops with interesting memorabilia hanging on the wall etc. Anyway, many stalls at the market were closed when I went perhaps cause it was late on a weekday afternoon but they had many beautiful plants and fresh fruit/vegetables. Figs are in season now! Also, if you love chocolates (or want to get a nice gift because the pralines are beautiful) then you must visit Elly Seidl while you are there (where I saw the cozy corner sign! :P). This chocolate store has over 100 years of history in Munich so it's pretty special :) Lastly, there is an icecream stall which you can walk to from the main station. It's located in a cozy neighboodhood and called Sweet Monkeys. The icecream is really good (and affordable)! I saw people of all ages getting icecream there and even taking away tubs. I tried the chocolate and lavender and they were both really good, especially the lavender because the flavour was well infused into the icecream yet delicate : ) So far, I think this is my favourite icecream place I've tried in Munich :D
I was also very much looking forward to the weekend, and it was nice to have a good break with a peaceful trainride passing by fields of sunflowers, grazing horses and windmills. Mammendorf is a quiet town, and there was one main coffee roastery which everyone seems to visit. I tried the cappuccino at Cafe Fino and it was really good well balanced coffee, so I imagine if you took away beans to make coffee at home it would be really good too :D Also the lady who works there is really sweet, she even told me to be careful before drinking the coffee that it might still be hot >< Many people in the town build their own houses so you can see pieces of wood everywhere and it's nice to see that compared to back home where we are used to seeing rows and rows of the same looking houses because land is scarce. In this town, many people have apple trees, and there are cows just roaming around too. There aren't many food places or shopping areas though you can travel to the nearby town Buchenau for that (so took the train S4 back to Munich from there instead of the S3 from Mammendorf which seems to be less frequent). I did however discover an alcohol specialty shop located near St Jakob church "Anderl Getränke Fachmarkt" which had a very good selection of beverages and I finally managed to find the craft beer I've been looking for! I've been wanting to try Tilmans Beer since I read about them back home because they tie up with artists to design each of their bottles! Also, the founder is a master brewer from TUM :D
So. If you had a bad week, just know the weekend is here and there are many beautiful things around : )
Update: I actually returned to Pasing on another occasion so I could visit the market when it was more 'alive'. The cheese store was a really nice discovery with so many varieties of cheeses in small (or large) quantities for you to buy home! I got some "Tegernsee Bergkase". I learnt last year that bergkase is mountain cheese in Germany which I've come to really like, and I now know that Tegernsee is a resort town in Bavaria near the alps!
