Golden Trees & Waffles #Munich

Winter is almost here! It's 1-2 degrees in the mornings and you can barely see anything through the fog >< Also, all the christmas chocolates are out at the supermarkets! hehe...Even at the mensa, they made a coconut rice pudding (Milchreis) with fruit sauce at the side for lunch.

On the days with slightly better weather ><, I had been enjoying the remaining beautiful colours of autumn! the leaves were GOLDEN and glistening in the afternoon sun <3 And it was nice to make more nagomi art with autumn prints (finally got to use that stencil! :P).

I also discovered (mainly because of the wonderful aroma that drew me to the shop ><) a waffles shop called waffles & friends at Hauptbahnhof station (near the U-bhan U4/5 escalator). It reminded me of the waffles shop at the canteen near my old lab back home and the 'uncle' who used to spread nutella and fold it into half for me and I would sit at a sunny bench and eat it because the underground lab was really cold :P

A friend also made pancakes for us and it was so delicious (and warm!) : ) she has memories of her dad making them for her, and then she began making them;- and there were so many different toppings including her own homemade plum jam <3 I also learnt about Eierlikör which is a custard like topping made from eggs, sugar and brandy! It's also interesting how you wrap the pancakes into rolls and eat them (Palatschinke) so they must be made thin.

Soon I may not get to go for the long walks I enjoy due to the heavy snow, but for now, I chanced upon this 'funny' sticker during one of them, and it's actually a rather interesting student initiative about the COVID situation. One gets to notice many interesting things during walks like the Schultüte (a few months ago) :P...which was actually so nice that kids could go back to a physical classroom especially for the 1st time! >< Anyway, the COVID situation seems to be getting worse so hope everyone is staying safe!!!
