Freising!

Updated: Nov 7, 2021

Freising is a quaint little Bavarian town which has many historical buildings that still retain its "Baroque" architecture. It is also a very religious town with churches/a famous cathedral and many buildings still featuring original Catholic motifs. The alleyways between buildings/houses are narrow and you can easily navigate around by walking or cycling (NOT car! haha) and it's very reminiscent of what you watch in movies featuring those colourful houses by the sea with little back alleyways in Greece or even in Italy.

It was only about a 30min train ride away from Munich city, but it was such a peaceful afternoon getaway from the bustling city which is so much more crowded now that summer is here. I was amazed to find a building that was almost 200 years old? mentioning Karl August Dominikus, now housing a modern day Apotheke. There were teddies scattered around and it is even in its coat of arms >< There was also a beautiful rose garden :) And of course, there was a nice cafe (remembering this is a food blog ;) - Junker's Cafe - with a lovely staff who spoke to me in English. They roast their own coffee and milk is sourced from a local farmer.

Just a short compilation- music during the train ride is "Far Way" by Michael Schulte <3 At the end, it was someone practicing the organ at the church.
